ES Interior Before Lexus Hired Tesla Designers

This is what I have and every person that gets in my car comments on how nice it is.

Congratulations. Nice choice.

You must have poor boomer friends because Lexus sedan interiors are dated.

It’s not so bad because it eliminates a complication. I’ll never consider the new generation.

What a beauty.

It’s utterly disappointing that the next-gen has neither elegance nor beauty. Can’t even get that weak steering out of my mind. Old is gold for a reason because the new feels like crap.

A physical large volume knob close to the driver is everything. I’m constantly fiddling with the volume.

Wait, is this real? It could explain why I dislike the new designs so much.

Lexus has been a generation behind on interiors (my wife owns the last-gen GS and my family owns 3 RXs). They’re trying to skip two generations. You can’t blame them for trying. I’m concerned about quality control with such a vast jump into tech. I was okay with them being behind because the cars are bulletproof (knock on wood). Let’s see what happens.

I always hated that big piece of leather going across to the passenger side that starts below the audio controls, but I’d rather take that than whatever they were thinking with the new one.

Looks like a car from 1995.

Just bought into this generation. Would never buy the new one; it looks way too much like a Kia.

This gen and the '07-12 models are my favorites.

Interior styled like an Onkyo AV Receiver.

Does it come with massaging front and rear seats and a cabin air freshener? I want my interior to smell like a Japanese garden, dammit. :joy: In with the new, out with the old. I can’t wait to have a GIANT display in the middle of my dashboard.

Not just the interior; the entire car looks like it came from a BYD design team. Hideous inside and out.

I sent the new one to my mom (who has a 2015) and convinced her that she does not want another.

I hope this isn’t an iPhone moment, where every phone looks the same. Don’t do that to cars.

I’m all for the new gauge clusters; they look nice. But slapping everything else together and making it basic for the screen is disappointing. They could’ve designed something unique to fit those screens better.

That’s probably the most-overlooked thing I despise about Tesla: everyone thinks they need to copy them now.

Tesla ‘designers’? Lol, that’s being generous.
