Finally found a Trailhunter… and wow

Tracked one down and I’m super happy with it. Huge step up from my old RAV4.

@Dane

I honestly think the Trailhunter is the best choice too. Still trying to get used to the $70k price tag though.

But with all the upgrades I’ve done — lift, tires, audio, etc — I’ve spent well over that anyway…

@Cam
Totally get the envy. It’s such a sharp truck!

And yeah, those prices are nuts. I remember paying $41k OTD for my 2013 and thinking it was crazy — I had only paid $16k for my last one.

Yup, and then there’s the financing part…
It really depends on your down payment.
But if you’re lucky enough to get under 3%, it’s easier to justify — unless you’re buying outright.

@Cam
And then you look at the GX… not that much more expensive.

Exactly. Tows more, faster, more features.

TRD Pro was $55k MSRP in 2024… now they’re asking so much more for the Trailhunter and Pro.

It’s gotten to the point where 4Runner is the least likely one I’d buy now.

@Cam
Not sure it’s a big deal when used TRD Pros with 50k miles are still selling for $50k.

True, but then you add interest rates — it’s pushing $80k out the door easily.

There’s a reason for that though.

I love the new 4Runner, but $70k on a first-year drivetrain is a gamble. It’s Toyota, so less risky, but still something to think about.

@Cam
Which audio upgrades did you do?

Swapped the entire stock system.

Front: Morel Elate Carbon Pro 93a (3-way active) with a modded 8.75" woofer in the door, powered by Mosconi amps.

Rear: Morel Tempo Ultra 6.5" coaxials, also on a small Mosconi amp.

Sub: JL Audio 12W6 HO Wedge with a Gladen amp.

Replaced the stock CarPlay with a Sony XAV-9500ES and an ARC Audio PS8-Pro DSP.

Definitely my favorite 6th gen model

And that color’s a winner too.

It’s so good — is it one of the limited-run colors?

We probably won’t know until next year, but I’d bet they’ll keep doing special colors for the higher trims.
