Gen 4 2000 Camry XLE Front Brake Rotors

I’m looking to purchase front rotors for my Japan-built 2000 Camry XLE and want to make sure I get the right parts from Rock Auto. I’ve read some threads but it’s quite confusing trying to figure out if there are differences between Japan and USA-built models regarding rotors, pads, and calipers. Also, do I need to worry about specific rotor sizes? I had some front pads, and after trying to turn down the driver side rotor on my lathe, it ended up warped! Now I’m trying to clean my caliper and fix any sticking issues before ordering new parts.

The OEM part number for your car is 43512-33042. You can cross-reference this number on Rock Auto to ensure compatibility.

Thanks! I checked the part number on the link you provided and saw that it looked like OEM parts. Do you know if these numbers cross-reference with any aftermarket options?

Since your XLE has the V6, you’ll need the larger front rotors. Make sure to buy the correct ones as the lower model trims have different sizes.

Great to know! What brand do you recommend? Is there a specific type I should look for?

Use lithium glycol grease (Toyota P/N 08887-01206) for the calipers to avoid any sticking issues.

I use Akebono ProACT pads and Centric rotors. They’re budget-friendly and perform well.

I found Centric rotors on Rock Auto but they seem a bit pricier than others. Should I stick with them for reliability?

I ordered a Centric rotor from Amazon for $47 since it was cheaper and easier to return than Rock Auto’s. They say it doesn’t fit my Camry, but Rock Auto says it does.

Just check for any run-out before mounting the new rotor to avoid issues.

I’m also wondering about my old hub—if the lug nuts weren’t torqued properly, could that warp it?

The likelihood is minimal, but definitely check for run-out before installing the new rotor.
