Got new shoes for my truck… thoughts?

How do the KO3s handle? They look awesome!

I’m thinking about getting those too, but I keep hearing different things about them. What’s your take?

I went with Duratracs on mine about 30,000 miles ago. They’ve been good so far, but I’ll see how they hold up in another winter.

I’ll update after a bit more driving, but they’re already so much better than my old set. Those were some no-name cheap ones.

Your truck looks amazing with those tires!

@Pat
Thanks! I honestly can’t get enough of the new tire smell.

Yeah, but handing over the credit card for those tires stings a bit!

:joy: So true. Worth it, though.

Looks great, but I wish there were options that weren’t E-rated in that size.

Thanks! I went with the E-rating because I plan on adding a four-wheel camper. But yeah, they should offer a lighter option.

@Lilnim
Have you checked your MPG yet? I’ve got stock-sized Defenders in XL load range, and they’re great for most situations. I love getting 17-18 MPG on the highway!

I’ve been tracking it. Not a lot of highway miles yet, and I’m averaging 13 MPG :sweat_smile:.

KO3s look solid! I had KO2s before, but they gave me some problems. I’ve heard KO3s fix all that, but I switched to AT/4s instead. Not as flashy, though.

What kind of problems did you have with the KO2s? I’ve got them on our Tacoma, and they’ve been fine.

@Lilnim
Mainly the ride being rough, wearing out faster than expected, and uneven wear patterns. Balancing them was a pain too.

I’m using Toyo RTs right now. Got 40k on them so far. They’ve been good, but their wet-weather grip isn’t great anymore.

I’ve had KO3s on my truck for about 5,000 miles, and they’ve been great so far. The only hiccup was the tire shop overinflating them. After fixing that, the ride and noise got way better.
