Got stuck trying to help someone… instant regret?

Grass hid 1.5 feet of deep mud that neither of us saw. Tried to help him out and got stuck as soon as I hit the throttle. Managed to crawl out with concrete blocks, only to sink again 3 feet later. Random tractor eventually got us both out. Now I have enough mud inside to start a garden and a dented tailgate from him pushing.

Lesson learned: 1. Always check the ground around you. 2. A Tacoma can’t pull out a 15,000lb Dodge from the mud.

Bet you won’t forget that lesson!

Haha, definitely not!

At least your truck has a sick color.

Thanks! Everyone knows it’s me when I roll up.

Right? Love that color!

Stock tires, huh?

Yeah, they’re terrible in mud. Any suggestions for a good mud tire that still works on the road? I don’t know much about tires.

I switched to Wildpeaks after getting stuck last year. Great on-road and handled Death Valley off-road like a champ.

@Finnian
I’m in Louisiana, so mud like this is everywhere. Might have to ask locals for recommendations.

@Finnian
Wildpeaks are great in snow too. Quiet but tough.

DuraTracs have worked well for me in multiple conditions.

@Ronald
How about deep mud?

Handled a bit of mud fine a few weeks back, but I wasn’t pulling anything heavy.

Been using Cooper Discoverer AT3s for years. Great balance for road and light mud. Not sure about anything deep though.

Isn’t it a Pro? Those are supposed to be unstoppable!

Maybe check the alignment on the grille. Could affect traction.

A kinetic rope and better tires would’ve helped.

Don’t usually do this stuff, but I might grab a kinetic rope just in case. Tires are definitely on the list now.
