Got the new truck… what do you think?

Here’s my new ride. It’s a beauty! What do you think?

What did you pay for it without the trade-in? Nice choice!

Out the door with the 10-year rust protection was $48,383. I got $7k on the trade-in and put another $8k down.

Edit: Forgot to mention title and fees, so it totaled $49k.

The rust protection cost $813. Not sure if I made the right call there, but I live in NH, and they use a lot of chemicals on the roads. Even with regular car washes, rust can show up in 5-7 years. I could do undercoating, but that comes with its own issues. Honestly, rust is a headache, and $813 felt worth it to have peace of mind.

@Beck
Okay, but what was the sticker price? Hopefully, you got at least $8k off before they added fees.

I think the big discounts are mostly on the leftover 2024 Tundras, not the 2025 models… yet.

Most engines need a break-in period where you vary the RPMs. Don’t redline it, but keep it moving up and down. It helps with setting the seals.

Also, it’s a good idea to avoid long trips using cruise control for the first 1,000 miles.

@Evans
I heard about avoiding sudden accelerations, but yeah, I definitely did that, lol. I figured pushing it a bit early on wouldn’t hurt too much.

I used to have a truck with a Hemi that needed high RPMs just to get the oil moving, so I guess I’m still used to driving like that. Honestly, though, I just got carried away during the test drive.

We’ve got the same truck! Mine’s just a 2023. Hope you enjoy yours!

I’ve only driven 60 miles so far, but it’s been amazing! I’m really liking the black interior too.

I thought it was Lunar Rock or nothing for me, but this truck was priced just right, and I’m loving the color now. It still feels unreal driving it.

Your truck looks awesome, by the way!

Haha, same here! I was set on Lunar Rock too, but I found this one as a demo unit at an incredible price. I couldn’t say no.

Usually, I’m the kind of person who just wants the paint to match, but Lunar Rock really gets me. That said, this blue has grown on me a lot—it’s got depth without being too sparkly.
