My brother got hit and the other driver just left. He was 2 min from home and drove it back. Is this totaled? What will this be in repairs?
Doesn’t look totaled. Airbags didn’t go off, which is a good sign. This is why we have insurance. Sucks though, sorry man.

Probably repairable. Call your insurance and pick a good body shop to get it fixed.
Easily over 10k in damage.

I tried checking parts online—looks like I’ll need a front bumper, hood, fender, grille, headlight, probably a new tire and maybe a wheel. Plus alignment and whatever else they find. No major frame damage I hope. Anything I’m missing?
@BillSmith
Why are you stressing about parts? This was a hit-and-run, right? If you have full coverage, just file a claim and let insurance handle it.
@BillSmith
Might want to check if the axle, control arms, or bushings took a hit too.
Might be heading to Copart soon…
Yeah, that’s rough.
I had similar damage from hitting a deer. Cost me around $6k–$8k. Insurance covered most of it, but they used some used parts.
Doesn’t look totaled, but it’s gonna cost a few grand at least. Hope your brother is alright.
That’s a good amount of damage. No dashcam footage?
Hope your brother had collision coverage. And rental car coverage, that’s a lifesaver in these situations.
Had a similar accident in my Lexus. Damage looked about the same, except my headlight was wrecked, and that alone was $4k. My total repair cost came to $31k, so they wrote it off.
Hate to say it, but this might be a total loss.
It’s close. I had a 2021 LE get hit in the same spot, and repairs were $15.5k. Hopefully yours is less.
Should be around $6k for all the parts and labor, assuming no hidden damage.
If you know how to fix it yourself, maybe $4k. A shop? Probably closer to $10k. I don’t think it’s totaled.
If airbags didn’t go off, it might be close to totaled. If they did? Definitely gone.
If you’re in California, expect $12k–$13k with labor and new parts.
