How do I switch off eco mode and traction control on my Toyota?

I drive a 2018 Toyota RAV4. I’ve been looking for the ECO mode button and also tried pressing the traction control button, but nothing happens. Any advice?

Did you check the owner’s manual for these features?

Yeah, I did. It says for TCS to press the button above the screen, but when I press it, nothing happens. For ECO Mode, it also says there’s a button, but I can’t find it anywhere.

@Raleigh
If I remember right, the ECO button is in an awkward spot near the ‘phone shelf.’ It’s hard to spot. Pressing it won’t do much visually. The ‘trac off’ light or ECO light might turn off, and that’s about it.

@Raleigh
Have you tried looking it up on YouTube? Sometimes videos help more than the manual.

Did you try searching for the answer online?

Why are people on this forum so salty? Of course, I tried searching online! That’s why I posted here.

Maybe you need to get better at searching or just chill a bit.

Honestly, just read your owner’s manual again. That’s the easiest way.

I did read it. I even mentioned that above. I couldn’t figure it out, so I came here. Not everything is that simple.

Forums are for discussing stuff like this. If everything could be solved by Google, what’s the point of this forum?

Try holding the traction control button for about 10 seconds while you’re stopped. That’s how it works on my 2016 RAV4. It’s not in the manual, but you’ll get a bigger warning on the dash when it’s off.

The Eco Mode button is located below the climate controls, near the cupholder area, close to the USB/Aux ports. If you mean the Eco Indicator (a small green light that says “Eco” and turns on or off as you drive), that can be adjusted through the 4.2-inch display in your gauge cluster. You can choose to enable or disable the Eco Indicator. The photo shows a Hybrid model, but the button is in the same location on the gas model, just without the EV mode option.

Eco mode is always on by default. There’s an ECO/Sport button below the infotainment area, near the cupholder. For traction control, you need to press and hold the button for about 5 seconds. You’ll see lights on the dash when it’s turned off. But once you reach 25mph, traction control turns itself back on automatically.

@Kieran
Thanks! I didn’t know traction control turns back on at 25mph. That clears up a lot of confusion for me.
