I avoid gas stations because of a creepy incident that happened to me there once. My husband usually fills my tank, but tomorrow I need to drive 250 miles round trip. Will I have enough gas for the entire trip?
You should easily get 350 miles on a full tank. If it’s mostly highway driving and you stick to around 65-70 mph, you might even get closer to 400-450 miles.

I regularly get to 300 miles before I even think about needing gas.

If you take it easy on the gas and brakes, you’ll go even further. Try to keep a steady speed and let hills work in your favor by building speed before an incline.
250 miles is totally fine. If you’re really worried, maybe look for gas stations with full service, where you don’t have to get out of your car. It’s not super common, but in a pinch, it could be an option.
You’ll be fine.
A full tank will cover 250 miles without a problem.
Sorry about your experience at the gas station. There’s definitely weird behavior out there, like how some people think it’s a man’s job to pump gas for their partner. So strange.
For comparison, I helped my girlfriend drive her 2018 Forester from Santa Fe to North Denver. We didn’t even need to refuel until after we got there, and that’s about 400 miles with lots of uphill sections. If you’re doing mostly highway, 550 miles might even be possible.

550 miles on one tank? Just double-checking here.

Yep, for highway driving. On that trip, we used adaptive cruise control almost the whole way and kept it around 78 mph. My old Outback XT could even get 28 mpg consistently on the highway.
You should see over 400 miles for highway driving. At higher altitudes or on roads with lower speed limits, you could push it closer to 450 miles.
My 2015 Forester gets around 330-350 miles on a tank, so your 2019 should be similar.
I usually refuel after 400 highway miles in my 2020 Forester. 250 miles is no issue, but if your trip were 500 miles total, you’d probably need a refill.
I have the same model, and 250 miles on a full tank is no problem. Depending on how much city driving you mix in, you could get anywhere from 320 to 350 miles.
Fill up before you go, and 250 miles will be a breeze. On my highway trips, I usually get 350 miles before the gas light even comes on.
Gas stations at night can be unsettling. I always look for ones that are well-lit and busy. I once heard of someone being assaulted at a gas station, so I make sure to stop before I’m desperate.
I can usually hit 400 miles on road trips.
I’m jealous of everyone here. My Forester gets about 15 mpg on a good day. But, you know, turbo life.
I managed 33 mpg on a 400-mile trip once. Not much elevation change, though.
Is your route mostly uphill or downhill?
You should be fine. My 2021 gets close to 400 highway miles, but I start looking for gas after 300 just to be safe. Always stay aware of your surroundings when stopping.
