The 2025 Toyota 4Runner has finally entered a new generation, bringing modern features while keeping its off-road toughness. But if you go all out and load it with every possible option, how much does it actually cost? I checked out the pricing, and a fully loaded 4Runner, including all optional extras and fees, comes out to $75,998. The TRD Pro and Trailhunter models are the most stacked versions, with each starting at $66,900. Anyone here planning to get one? Or is the price too steep?
Wait, $75k for a 4Runner? That’s basically Land Cruiser money… is it really worth that much?

Yeah, it’s crazy. But Toyota loaded it up with features, plus the hybrid powertrain in the TRD Pro and Trailhunter. 326 HP and 465 lb-ft of torque, so at least you’re getting some serious performance.
@Ezri
Oh, I didn’t know it had a hybrid option. Does it make a big difference in MPG?

A little bit, yeah. The hybrid gets 23 city / 24 highway MPG, while the non-hybrid is around 21-22 MPG. Not a huge jump, but more torque is nice.
I like the Trailhunter more than the TRD Pro. It seems better for long trips and overlanding. Anyone else?

Yeah, the Trailhunter has ARB Old Man Emu shocks, so it’s built for comfort on long adventures. The TRD Pro is more for speed and jumps.
@Keenan
Makes sense! I don’t need to be flying down dirt roads, so Trailhunter sounds like a better fit for me.
Does Toyota offer any customization options, or are these fully loaded models basically set?

There are some options! You can choose different paint colors, interior trims, and a bunch of accessories like rock rails, dash cams, and LED lights.
@Ezri
Nice! Do they charge extra for paint colors?

Nope, the colors are no-cost options. But the TRD Pro has an exclusive Mudbath color, and the Trailhunter gets Everest (a dark blue-green).
I saw something about a digital key option… is that standard or an extra?

That’s an extra, it costs $200. Lets you use your phone as a key.

Not bad. I wish Toyota would just make it standard on their high trims though.
What’s the towing capacity on these? Thinking about getting one for hauling a camper.

Towing isn’t bad, but it’s not a segment leader. The 2025 4Runner can tow up to 6,000 lbs.
@Ezri
That’s decent. Probably fine for a small trailer, but I’d want more for a bigger camper.
