How often should the radiator fan run

Hi everyone I got a mk1 Yaris 1.0 vvti two months ago and I noticed the fan was running all the time So I replaced the thermostat and now the fan runs on and off But I’m not sure how often it should run so I wanted to ask

Today the temp is 16°C I started the car did some city driving and after about 10 minutes the fan kicked in for about 3 minutes then turned off It kept doing this every 5 to 10 minutes Is this normal I don’t have a temp gauge so I can’t see the temp

The red light never comes on and I flushed the car about a month ago

Any explanation would be super helpful I’m new to cars Thanks a lot

Also I noticed when I open the radiator cap to purge my radiator with a funnel every time I get rid of bubbles I see new ones after a few days when I check They are very few Is that normal too The coolant level never drops so I don’t think there’s a leak

Typically the fan turns on around 95 degrees Celsius It will run until it drops below about 94 and will turn back on when it reaches 95 degrees again

So does that mean my car is overheating Is that why the fan is kicking early to prevent it Or is it normal

@Parrish
It’s normal The temp light will come on if your car is actually overheating

Thanks a lot That helps! I have another question Where do you think I should look first for the tiny air bubbles that get into the cooling system sometimes Just to note the coolant level stays the same

@Parrish
If the coolant level is stable, those bubbles might just be from the coolant circulating Have you properly bled the cooling system I would be worried if coolant was disappearing and there were lots of bubbles To find air leaks, check the hoses and clamps first, then look for leaks in the radiator

@Sayer
The only way I know to bleed it is to use a funnel on the radiator cap and fill it with coolant, then run the car until the thermostat opens twice and there are no more bubbles I also turn the heat on during this Is that the right method or is there another way

@Parrish
That sounds about right

Thanks a lot I really appreciate your help! I’ll try changing the hoses just in case and I’ll also swap the radiator cap with an OEM one and I hope it all works out!
