How reliable are Toyotas? Specifically the Rav4

Im planning to buy a 2010-2012 Rav4, preferably with the v6, and take it on a 10,000-mile road trip. There could be some days with 16 hours of driving followed by five days of no driving, some gravel roads, and a lot of stuff in the car.

My instant thought was, “It is a Toyota; it can handle anything,” but I am not sure how true that is. There is not a lot of information available about how reliable it is for driving a year’s worth of miles in a few months.

I am diligent about maintenance, and I would make sure it is bumper to bumper ready to go, as well as preemptively replace anything that could go wrong; I am just not sure if I am overly hopeful.

Toyotas, like the Rav4, are known for reliability. The 2010-2012 model, especially with the V6, is generally robust for long trips and varied conditions. With diligent maintenance and thorough preparation, you should feel confident in taking it on your road trip adventure.

Trust me, I haven’t had any problems with my Toyota RAV4 2021 model up till now.

It’s a fantastic SUV that I off-road by raising it two inches. I think it’s a wonderful deal all around.
