I recently bought a second-hand 2019 Yaris, and I can’t figure out how to turn off the entertainment system—aside from holding down the volume minus button, which is super inconvenient when I need instant silence (especially if the volume is at 30 or blasting when I start the car). Am I missing something? When using Bluetooth, I see a play/pause button, but with the radio, there’s no clear “off” option. Why don’t cars have physical buttons anymore?

Have you tried the pause button?
If the aftermarket infotainment system is connected to the steering wheel controls, try pressing and holding the mode button. That should pause or silence the music.
What does the ‘back’ button do on the bottom left side?
