How to turn off Toyota safety features when surrounded by protestors?

Was thinking about a situation. Hypothetically. I heard a report that violent protests might break out in major cities. Let’s say you’re in a downtown area and get surrounded by angry protestors in your new-gen tundra. People start hitting and kicking your vehicle, side glass shatters. You decide to step on the accelerator for fear of harm. Will your vehicle go forward? Do the safety sensors keep the brakes on? Looking for ways to override or turn these features off.

Oddly specific but alright.

And odd after this morning.

I too want to know this, like zombie apocalypse mode?

Wow, that’s a good thought. My PCS button stops my truck from braking front and rear. (I tested it by driving into some bushes.) The alarms still beep, but no brakes. Some others on the forum have said their button doesn’t stop the brakes. That sounds like a failure to me, and I’d take that in for a warranty issue.

My dad and I both have new tundras. My button works, but his doesn’t. It really sucked when he was backing up a trailer. He ended up with a lemon, though, tons of issues with his truck.

I’ve read about others having the same issue, even in Tow Mode, which is also supposed to disable PCS. Sorry to hear about your dad. Hope he keeps pushing the dealer to fix it!

This is what keeps you up at night? You should stop listening to that conservative propaganda, man.

You’re clearly the one sucking up the propaganda!

Really?

Maybe pulling a fuse could work?

Did it work for you?

You could try stacking a bunch of cardboard boxes around the truck and give it a go… I don’t think the sensors can tell the difference between human flesh and Amazon boxes.

It’s in the instrument cluster menu, you can turn it off there. I usually have to turn it off in winter; otherwise, ice and snow build-up makes the system error out from October to May here in Alaska. :upside_down_face:
