I don’t know what 20oz looks like (I’m European), but the skinny cans fit fine too. I thought they would tip over, but I did a 1.5-hour trip through the city and the motorway with no problem and no spillage. This car could honestly be the best.
If you buy one of the mini Lowe’s buckets, it fits nicely in the cup holder and will keep canned drinks from sliding around.

Thanks, that’s a great tip! These cup holders are incredibly useful! Drinks fit snugly and stay secure. Now all I need is an extra-long straw so I can sip without having to reach over to grab the cup while driving!
I kept the car for 12 years just because of the cup holders! Then I bought a MK3 which has cup holders but it’s very hard to maneuver the cup in and out. You guys are lucky—baby your car if you want those cup holders to last.
