Insurance shot up after getting a newer car… anyone else

USAA hit me with a $50/month jump too. No accidents or tickets either.

I heard switching every 3–5 years helps. I stayed with Geico too long and they started bumping up my rates too, even without any claims.

Yeah, seems like they hike up long-term customers to give better deals to new ones. I had that happen with Liberty Mutual too. Left as soon as they tripled my rate.

I was with GEICO for 10 years and they kept creeping up my bill. Switched to a 2024 Outback and they wanted $40 more a month. Changed companies and now I’m saving $100 a month.

Best move? Change insurance companies. Easiest way to save money. I bounced between GEICO and Progressive and kept lowering my payments that way.

Just a heads-up, what others pay doesn’t mean much for your rate. I pay less for a BRZ but when I looked at newer models, insurance was cheaper somehow. Rates depend on where you live and a bunch of other stuff.
