Is a 2013 Outback with A/T transmission a good choice?

I’m considering buying a 2013 Outback with an A/T transmission. From what I’ve read, A/T transmissions seem to be more reliable and less expensive to replace compared to CVTs.

My question is, will I run into issues finding the right parts for repairs since most newer Subarus use CVT transmissions? Thanks in advance for the advice!

You’ll be fine. It’s not like this is a rare vintage sports car with hard-to-find parts.

Assuming you’re in the US? There shouldn’t be any problems getting parts for this generation of Outback. The only issue I’ve ever had was finding a replacement radio.

If you’re in the US, you’ll only get an A/T in the 3.6R model. Is that what you’re looking at?

It has a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine.

A 2013 Outback with the 2.5L H4 engine would have a CVT, not an A/T.

The 2013 2.5L Outback uses the TR690 CVT, which is one of the less problematic CVT transmissions. Just make sure to change the transmission fluid every 40k miles to keep it running well.
