Is the 2008-2017 Toyota Sequoia a Good Choice for a Teen Driver?

Hello, I’m thinking about getting a used 2008-2017 Toyota Sequoia for my son, who’s 5’8" and just got his driver’s license. I’d love some feedback on how this vehicle stands up in terms of safety, reliability, and practicality for a new driver.

Does the Sequoia have good safety features and reliability? Is it a suitable choice for his first car, or are there any potential issues I should be aware of?

Any insights or experiences with this model would be really helpful…Thanks

Keep in mind that the Sequoia is a large SUV, which might be harder for a new driver to maneuver compared to smaller cars. Although it is known for its reliability, some owners have mentioned concerns about fuel efficiency. The vehicle’s size can pose challenges with parking and handling for a new driver.

My teenager drives a Sequoia and it has been an excellent choice. It’s roomy and comes with essential safety features, making it a reliable option for new drivers. However, its size can make it somewhat challenging to maneuver, but overall, it is a dependable and safe vehicle.

The Toyota Sequoia is renowned for its excellent reliability and safety features. For a new driver, its strong track record for durability is particularly reassuring.

It depends on the driver. A first-gen Sequoia might be better for a newbie. Get a V8 model for easier maintenance and learning.
