Is there any hope for a repair here

2021 Venza LE with only 24K miles

I’m the person from the other post. My car had similar damage but wasn’t repairable because the wiring harness was wrecked. If yours is intact, which is right in front and behind the grille, and if the frame isn’t bent, you might be okay. But if there’s any damage to that harness, it could mean an extra $5000, and your car might be totaled. The airbags depend on several factors; ours probably didn’t deploy since no one was in the passenger seat where the deer hit. No one got hurt at all, so the Venza did its job of taking the hit.

It’s tough to be in this position. We’re currently waiting for Toyota to release the loan so we can get a new one. Please don’t buy a white Venza in Buffalo this weekend; we already checked that one out.

Feel free to send me another chat request if you want to talk. I accidentally deleted our last chat since I’m new to that feature.

I honestly thought this was just a repost. But based on that post, I’d say it’s probably not going to work out.

Looks like they’re going to declare it a total loss. That’s unfortunate. Maybe a shop will take it on to rebuild later.

That sounds rough. What exactly happened? I hope everyone is alright.

No one was hurt. I was surprised that the airbags didn’t go off. Maybe that was intentional. The driver and passenger didn’t feel much impact. I was really shocked by the damage since I wasn’t in the accident.

It can definitely be repaired, but getting a new car might be cheaper.

I’m the person from the other post. My car wasn’t fixable because the deer wrecked the wiring harness and intake, which cost $7000 alone. The body work was about $12000, so it could have been repaired if the frame wasn’t damaged. I can’t tell if that’s the case with yours.

Mine looked similar and was 20k. No airbags deployed either. The write-off value was 32k for a 2021 Venza limited. You really won’t know until someone assesses it.

Of course it can be fixed, but the insurance will likely declare it a total loss and then try to offer you a low payout.

I’m not sure, but my car had about 1% of that damage and the estimate was nearly $4000.

I doubt it. Sorry to say.

It can be repaired, but what’s the price? I’d let the insurance total it and look for another vehicle if that’s possible.

Anything can be fixed, but the real question is whether it’s worth it. It might end up being totaled.

I’ve seen worse get repaired, but you won’t know until you get an estimate.

Sure, but you might not want to keep it afterward.

Highly unlikely. What matters is that you’re okay. Cars can be replaced; you can’t.

Maybe if the airbags didn’t deploy.

That should be fixable…

Sounds like a total loss. They totaled mine after a rear-end collision that damaged the bumper and pushed into the tailgate. They estimated $20k in repairs. Such a loss for a great car. I’m glad the driver and passenger were safe.
