Just right now we got the new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 1 out of 2000 it’s really nice. However something I can’t stand Is the beeping noise when you go 0.5 km over the speed limit, i know it’s for safety but it’s annoying me and increases bad temper which interrupts the driver. Do y’all know any way to turn it off?
Wait, that’s why. The 4 cylinder engine is the only option in the States. Awesome Land Cruiser, hope you’re happy with it! Looks great, and I imagine it performs even better with a 6 cylinder diesel engine. That would be awesome.

Actually, the 120/150/250 series was never offered with a six cylinder diesel engine. They had several 4 cylinder turbo diesels in the past though!

Why is this installed and why is it turned on by default? No one wants it!
@Junita
It’s an EU thing, unfortunately.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it was US too. Thank God it can be disabled. I’d literally keep an old 4Runner forever before I’d buy a new one with that mandatory.
@Junita
I just wish there was a way to stop the door beeping with keys in the ignition. Back in the day, someone posted a schematic on the FJ Cruiser forum to disable the beeping permanently, and I’ve had silence ever since.
@Cade
I think you can disable it if you buy and install one of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Bn4cQvklo8

Thanks, but I tried the Carista on my 19 4Runner and it didn’t stop the door beeping. It worked for the seatbelts though.

I appreciate it.
What do you think about the engine? I read somewhere that it’s a 4 cylinder turbo now. Wasn’t the previous Land Cruiser a V8 or V6?

Well, that depends on what you mean by previous. In the US, we only got the 100 series with a 4.7L V8 or the 200 series with a 5.7L V8. Now we’re getting the 250 series with a 2.4L turbo hybrid inline four. Other markets had different engine options though. The previous Land Cruiser was a different series, so a V8 wouldn’t have been available for the 250 series. It’s like going from a 5 series BMW to a 3 series, expecting 5 series options.

It’s a diesel straight-four.

It’s a turbo-diesel straight-six. Not sure if that’s just for the First Edition.
Haha, nope. The J250, which you have, comes with a 2.8L 1GD inline four turbo diesel, either with or without mild hybrid in some places, or in North America with a 2.4L T24A turbo petrol inline four hybrid. Other places may get the non-hybrid petrol version. There’s no straight-six option on the J250 or J300, and the 120/150/250 series never had a straight-six engine.
@Dai
Alright, my bad.

Pretty sure it’s a 4 Cylinder Turbo Hybrid. That’s the only engine option in the US.
@Cody
There’s one part on the registration plate that isn’t blurred out. Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s a hybrid or not. I’m not very familiar with this car yet; it just arrived.
