Looking at 2010-2015 Toyota Tacomas

What are everyone’s thoughts on Toyota Tacomas from 2010 to 2015? I’m interested in a 4x4, 4-door model. I’m currently driving a 2017 F150 XLT and considering turning that into a work truck while using the Tacoma as my daily driver. How’s the long-term reliability of these trucks?

2012-2015 models are the 2.5 gen and are considered some of the best. I have a 2013 and absolutely love it!

These are super reliable. If the frame is rust-free and has been treated, there’s not much else to worry about. My 2014 has over 200k miles and runs great, while a friend’s 2014 F150 is already close to being junked at 100k.

Great truck, very reliable. Just double-check it’s rated for any towing you plan on doing.

I’ve got a 2014 with 110,000 km, and it feels like it’s just getting broken in. My only complaints are the interior space and towing capacity, but it’s a solid truck overall.

I have a 2011 SR5 access cab with a 5-speed manual and a 4-cylinder. It’s a nice little truck—good gas mileage and pretty much stock, which I like. The only downside is that it can’t haul or tow much, but it works for me.

The 2.5 gen Tacomas (2012-2015) are really reliable. There was a frame rust recall, but Toyota replaced frames if needed. They’ve been known to last a million miles in some cases! Toyota’s 1GR-FE V6 and 2TR-FE 4-cylinder engines are both extremely dependable.

I have a 2012 off-road model with about 240,000 miles. Still running great!

I’ve got a 2011 SR5 with a camper shell, ARB front bumper, and Bilstein shocks. It has 260k miles and has been through a lot, including disaster relief work. It’s held up well!

I traded my 2013 for a 2023, and honestly, I kind of regret it.

No problem! Just to add, my 2013 had 180k trouble-free miles. I only traded it in because I wanted to get value while I could, but I’m sure it could go another 100k miles.

I have a 2011 TRD Offroad with a manual transmission and 380,000 km. It’s on its third front differential but otherwise just regular maintenance items.

I have a '13 TRD. Absolutely bombproof.

Bought my 2015 five years ago and still have no regrets. Only issue is with the plastic step bar pads, which I blame on the Texas sun.
