Looking at a 2016 LS460 F-Sport What do you think

The car is listed at 21 thousand dollars with 88 thousand miles. It has air ride suspension and all-wheel drive. I think I might be able to negotiate 1 or 2 thousand dollars off. The pictures look good and the car seems to be a nice interior and exterior. What do you all think? I want a bigger sedan and this one seems to meet my needs. Can I add some mods to make it a bit faster than the 386 horsepower it has stock?

The LS460s are good cars, especially from 2013 and later. But people tend to avoid the air suspension and all-wheel drive versions because fixing those parts can be very expensive.

Yeah I’ve read about that and plan to ask the dealer about it. Hopefully, it’s been fixed recently because the roads here are pretty rough.

@Zinnia
I have a 2014 F Sport RWD. Because the AWD suspension parts are very limited and costly, I’d be cautious. AWD adds a lot of suspension issues, and the RWD version already has enough quirks to make me glad I don’t have AWD.

Looks great

I wouldn’t try to add more power to an LS460. The 2013 and newer models have fewer problems than earlier ones, but you should still watch out for issues like the coolant valley plate leak, which every 1UR engine will get if the coolant wasn’t changed carefully. Air shocks are expensive and will probably fail after 100K miles, so if you plan to keep the car a long time, that’s something to think about.

I just bought a 2015 with 33K miles. Sadly, it has AWD and air suspension, but I went for it because I found a rare crafted line model. I plan to save up for those costly parts.
