Is there any way to upgrade this car?
I have a 2007 Yaris 1.3L. I’ve heard that cone filters might not be good since they bring in hot air, but the original setup doesn’t seem great either. If I add a cone filter, will it be worse than the original or the same?
Adding intakes without other modifications is usually not worth it. Unless you want more engine noise, it’s best to leave it as is.
It won’t really make any noticeable difference. Just make sure to change your air filters regularly.

You’re not going to achieve much in terms of power with this car. They are meant for economy. If you want to go more advanced, like standalone ECUs, full exhausts, and engine work, it might not be worth the cost. Focus on getting good suspension parts, lightweight wheels, and quality tires. Good tires can make a bigger difference than most mods for the Yaris.
