My Tri-Fold Tacoma Cover is Stuck and won't fold!

I am having trouble with my Tacoma’s tri-fold cover. For some context, I’m not super familiar with fixing these things. I went to pick up some stuff from a flower nursery, and before I could even pay, one of the workers ran out and dumped everything in my truck bed without even opening the cover properly. They just let it hang awkwardly over the bed.

Now, when I try to fold the cover, it won’t flip or fold properly. It’s stuck at the first part and won’t move. This happened once before, and my dad was able to fix it, but he’s no longer around. Any ideas on what might have gone wrong or how I can fix it? I’ve added a picture showing how the cover just lifts up but won’t fold.

When you say it’s not folding, do you mean it won’t open properly? Check for a latch or handle, maybe a cable under the cover that needs to be pulled to release it. Sometimes the secondary latches get stuck and prevent the cover from folding or closing right.

Thanks for responding! Yeah, it’s like it won’t fold the first part over. Usually, it folds in sections and then clips into place, leaving the bed open. Should I look under the cover?

Yes, usually it’s on the sides of the cover. There are typically two latches: one that lets you fold it once, and another closer to the cab that opens it completely.

@Gyllenhall
Try opening the tailgate and look under the cover on either side. Sometimes it’s not a latch but a small cable you pull down.

@Lilnim
Nope, nothing like that under mine. I have this type of cover.

It’s a Solid Fold 2.0 by Extang.

@Lilnim
Exactly! That piece lets it lock in place. I think something they did when loading the stuff messed it up—it’s lifting but won’t bend.

It just gets stuck at the position shown in the picture when I try to flip it over to fold.
