Needing a help or advise to fix my 2009 Corolla

Hi guys,

My 2009 Corolla was involved in an accident, and I might have to cover the costs myself. I’m considering buying the parts from eBay and doing the repairs on my own, but I wouldn’t be able to paint them to match the car’s color.

I’ve gotten quotes from a few body shops, and the cheapest was $1,300. Does that seem reasonable?

If I can find a front bumper, left fender, and left-hand lamp assembly in Magnetic Gray at a junkyard, that would be ideal. I’m currently located on the north side of the Chicago area.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

The front of the automobile has the most damage, which isn’t too bad. You might attempt to fix it yourself by purchasing new parts, but it might be difficult to match the colour of the automobile. Taking it to a repair shop is an other alternative, however this will incur costs. As an alternative, you can find out if your insurance will pay for the repairs by contacting them. Before choosing a choice, think about the amount of money and effort you’re willing to invest.

A rule I follow for cars is not to spend on repairs if the cost is close to the car’s value. If a second opinion confirms the dealer’s diagnosis, it might be a good time to consider getting a new car.
