I just got my first Toyota Tacoma and stumbled upon this awesome forum! Any tips on where to start? Looking for advice on mods, maintenance, or just cool stuff to know about my new truck.
Depending on where you live, I would start with the power tailgate lock if there isn’t one. The paint surrounding the right hinge pin can then be shielded by using even something as basic as a hose clamp and heat shrink. Cat shield can also be beneficial, depending on your current location. The sequential blinker and blacked-out turn signals in the mirror are appealing to me. If you want to add something to the walk-up lights, I prefer the miso puddle pods. To get the wire through the door loom, though, they’re a bitch. Then, if you want to tackle any more difficult trails, you might want to consider getting some functional sliders. The ones with the kick out at the back and possibly some plates to shield the low hanging branches are what I would get.
I adhere to the manufacturer’s service schedule, which includes regular oil changes and tire rotations. I also consistently monitor fluid levels and check the brakes and suspension to keep everything running smoothly.
