Next Gen 2026/27 Toyota Supra, Toyota-engineered this time?

Even though I just got my A90, I’m kinda hyped to see what Toyota has planned in a few years. Maybe we’ll finally get a manual from the start? (If that’s still a thing by then.)

Honestly, I’m pretty sure this isn’t real at all.

That render is ugly… no way that’s the real thing.

Agreed, it’s not a great look.

No manual, hybrid, and a 4-cylinder “sports car”… not interested.

Yeah, probably underpowered too.

Kinda torn because BMW is a big reason I went for the MK5. That B58 engine is a beast, and the interior’s great too. Not sure I’d switch if they go pure Toyota.

Totally agree. B58 is hard to beat. Toyota hasn’t made anything close in the last couple decades. The MK5 is amazing as it is.

@Blend
Only engine I’d see as an option from Toyota would be the 2UR-GSE V8, but not sure it’d fit in a Supra. The LCF feels like the V8 Supra we never got.

Fun fact: an Australian racing team did use a Toyota V8 in their Supra build!

Unrelated, but Top Gear just featured the LFA… man, that Yamaha-made engine sound is something else.

Funny, BMW is actually why I held off on getting the current Supra. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

@Del
Only downside is that Toyota dealerships aren’t great with servicing the BMW engine.

I was leaning toward the M240i, but since there’s no manual option, the Supra became a real contender. Gen 2 B58 is a nice improvement too.

@Frankie
Out of curiosity, what’s different in the Gen 2 B58?

Better cam cap design, stronger timing chain, split cooling… lots of upgrades that make it more durable.

Looks like a modern Prelude… not feeling it.

All these iconic cars getting worse with each new version, honestly.

4-cylinder only and it’s ugly? Hard pass.

How reliable is this source? Feels more like speculation than anything else.
