Nvidia at CES confirmed self driving and full electric cars… what do you think?

They’re going to use this to control when and how we can drive… taking away our freedom.

I work in the car industry and now with EVs too. The big goal is self-driving.

I did a project on this in my MBA. They think autonomous driving can cut traffic accidents and the problems they cause by over 90%. Traffic flow and efficiency will get way better too.

Think about how helpful this would be for the elderly, sick, or disabled. It’s happening sooner than we think.

@Brianna
I’m worried about how autonomous cars will mix with the ones we still drive ourselves.

@Brianna
I doubt it’ll happen in my lifetime, and I’m 40. It needs a lot of laws and people agreeing to it.

If you mean fully autonomous roads with no traditional cars, I don’t see it soon.

Feels like we’re headed towards a future like in Judge Dredd… mega cities and wastelands in between, where autonomous cars are the norm far from regular life.

@EdwardGenesis
Tesla already has self-driving, even though it’s not perfect yet.

There are robo taxis too.

This tech will improve quickly, and it’s definitely coming.

Waymo is already doing it. No doubt. But I mean highways only for FSD cars, no gas engines, just EVs.

You get in, tell it where to go, and it drives itself with no controls inside.

Or maybe we’ll get something like the taxis in Total Recall. I’m just saying you’re optimistic about when it’ll happen.

I’m still driving my 30-year-old Landcruiser and plan to keep doing that for a long time.

Until cargo and people transport is fully automated, most of us will keep driving ourselves for a while.

Tesla doesn’t really have full self-driving yet.

@Cade
Well, that’s what they call it.

It’s not perfect, like I said.

But I’ve been in one on the highway, and the driver hardly had to do anything.

I’d be fine with this if people could still get licenses to drive their own cars. A lot of folks don’t want to drive, and some really shouldn’t.

I’m really excited about this. I didn’t expect Toyota to make a move like this.
