Seeking Advice - How do I use the 2023 RAV4 multi-information display?

Can someone explain how to set this up, please?

I have a 2023 Excel with a 12.3-inch digital dash display. When I press the < and > meter control buttons (the circular ones on the left side of the steering wheel), a small menu with options 1, 2, and 3 appears.

I know that holding the OK button lets you scroll left and right to check or uncheck boxes for what you want displayed on the left and right sides of the dash. However, I can’t figure out what selecting 1, 2, or 3 does. When I asked the dealer, they said that 1, 2, and 3 allow you to configure three different sets of items on the dash. If that’s true, I would expect to see different items checked or unchecked in the menus depending on whether 1, 2, or 3 is selected. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure this out, but I can’t see any difference.

I’ve read the relevant section of the Owner’s Handbook multiple times, and it’s not helpful.

I’m usually good at figuring out menus and digital systems, but this one has me stumped. Is it just me, or are others also having trouble with the 12.3-inch dash setup?

As a Toyota owner with a digital dash display, I initially faced similar confusion with customizing and saving different display configurations. After some trial and error, I realized that each preset needs to be individually configured.

Once I figured out that I had to actively change and save the settings for each preset number, it became easier. For instance, I set preset 1 for daily driving with essential info like speed and fuel efficiency, preset 2 for road trips with navigation and media info, and preset 3 for off-road adventures with compass and pitch/roll indicators. Understanding this process helped me utilize my digital dash display more effectively and tailor it to my needs.
