Should the dealership fix this for me?

I bought a used 2023 Camry from a dealership. After getting it home, I noticed the safety features, BSM and RCTC, are showing as unavailable. These were listed as working in the description. I called the salesman, but they said they can’t do anything because I signed a ‘sold as is’ agreement. Is there anything I can do about this?

By the way, the carfax and any disclosures didn’t mention any issues with the safety system.

I bought the car from a dealership, not as a certified pre-owned vehicle. The salesman mentioned they didn’t make it CPO to keep the price lower.

Also, this is my first time buying a car, so I didn’t check if the system was working during the test drive.

I’m still learning about buying cars.

I’m not sure where you’re from, but in my state, you have 3 days to cancel the contract. I’d say they should make it right or take the car back. Does it still have a warranty?

It depends. Was the BSM and RCTC working during the test drive? Was this car CPO from a Toyota dealership? Most used cars are sold as is, unless they are CPO.

Is the car still under Toyota’s factory warranty since it’s a 2023?

Good point! It should still be covered unless it has more than 36,000 miles.

They don’t have to do anything, but you can leave some bad reviews for the dealership. That’s worked for me twice and got them to fix things even if they didn’t have to—just to get me to update my review.
