Makes sense since you’re on this forum. Birds of a feather and all that…
Check with your insurance, but I recently filed a claim for a bird strike. Animal strikes usually don’t raise your premiums, but it might depend on the company.

In Brazil, you have to add animal strikes to your insurance coverage. It’s not covered by default. Where I live, there are a lot of farms, so cows on the road are common.
@Eliot
I guess Brazil has a lot of wildlife and critters.

Yeah, I hit a pigeon on the highway once. It hit the windshield and left a small mark. The pigeon, well, didn’t make it.

In the US, animal strikes fall under comprehensive coverage and don’t affect your rates like a collision claim would.

If your insurance raises your premium for a bird strike, it’s time to find a new company.
I can picture the bird’s foot wiggling on the camera. I hope it was quick and painless.
RIP, little bird. Once a bird flew under my car, and I didn’t see it in the mirror. Months later, I found it flattened against the radiator. There were even feathers in the cabin air filter.
Looks like a ruffed grouse. If it is, you’ve got yourself a good meal!

The Toyota mechanics who helped me kept the bird. Not sure what they did with it.

I’m just glad it wasn’t a moose.
Usually see that on a Ford. Raptor.
