How did you manage to get so many miles in just 5 years? Do you drive for Uber or something?
It’s not mine, just a car I saw while I was looking into hybrids.

I drive about 85k miles a year or more.

What the heck?

How often do you change the transmission fluid?

Wait, you’re supposed to change the transmission fluid?

And don’t forget the blinker fluid too!
@Tanisha
I have to do this like 3 times a year for my state’s inspection.

Toyota’s maintenance schedule says… never. Except if you’re doing heavy towing, using a roof box, or really loading it up, then change it every 60,000 miles or 72 months.
The schedule doesn’t even list a change interval for regular use. It stops at 120k miles/144 months.

I’m calling BS. If this was true, you’d have to drive 530 km every single day for 5 years without taking a single day off. Sounds a bit… much.

I’ve seen airport taxis with 900,000 km on the clock. The drivers are always so proud of it. It’s not BS. They do long trips to and from YYZ, which is actually outside Toronto. The cars are often shared between two drivers, so yeah, 500 km daily is totally doable.
@Palmer
Yeah, airport taxis can be new cars with some crazy mileage on them.

Remember, cars are made the year before they’re sold. So it’s more like 300 km a day. And if you’re doing 500 km or more some days, it’s definitely possible.

Yeah, I can see it happening. Taxis cover a lot of ground, and maybe the owner was driving 6 days a week. It could have had multiple drivers on shifts too.

If you have a 2-2.5 hour commute for work, that’s totally possible. And if you’re doing Uber for 8-10 hours daily, even more so.

Not impossible for airport taxis doing 12-hour shifts.
That’s like 45 km an hour.
Totally doable, especially if they’re working at Toronto’s airport.
@Holland
Wow, even with the original battery?
@Holland
That’s crazy.
@Holland
Is that your car? I’ve seen someone selling these ES models with over 900k km on Kijiji all the time

You’re talking about the US market, right? Any differences with European Lexus models?
