So I found out an 86 stock radio fits and works in the Yaris

I was at a buddy’s house and saw his old stock headunit lying around. I saw that it almost was an identical size to the stock headunit. 20 mins later, I was able to install and reuse the same mounting hardware and it fits like a glove. There are two cables/plugs that don’t fit or are used though. Bluetooth works though which is an upgrade, just no FM/AM Radio.

EDIT: After researching it looks like 1 connector with 20 (roughly) pins is for steering controls, which this car doesn’t have. The other is the antenna. I’m looking to get an adapter and see if I can get this running again, just in case.

I believe it’s from a 2017 frs/86. PN: PT546-00170. Looks like it is compatible with C-HR, Corolla iM and 86 and comes from those models.

It’s the headunit that comes in the 86 with the premium sound system. You’ll need to do some digging to find it.

Put a Android radio in my daughter’s car. Has the back up camera. Way cheap and comes with the dash piece on ebay. Instructions are not the best. Kind of have to figure out how to use it yourself.

If you hook everything up and your dimmer switch doesn’t work properly, let me know and I’ll tell you how to fix that.

great! did you do some rewiring to fit it or does it actually fit with the oem socket? my yaris ‘navi’ has an OEM Tomtom gps (that doesn’t work well) with the same radio frame you got in the picture.

Looks good OP, speaking of which, you have a photo of stock set up ? There are two styles n believe I have the older style, my 10 n this wont work for me. I was lookin at Jensen 7 or 8 inch, 60 wpc, either 220/240 on amazon at the moment
