Hey everyone, just picked up a brand new 2025 Tundra Hybrid! First truck I’ve ever owned, and I love it so far, but I’m realizing storage inside the cab is kind of an issue. Should I just go for a bed cover, or is there something else I can use for storing stuff inside? I’m constantly moving small to medium items throughout the day, so I need something convenient. Appreciate any suggestions!
I’ve got an i-Force Max too, and yeah, storage inside isn’t great. Here’s a thread from the Tundra forums with a ton of ideas.
I’m leaning towards the Undercover Swing Case. I don’t like bed covers since I don’t want to mess with removing them all the time. This one is waterproof and stays out of the way when I don’t need it.
Toyota really dropped the ball with storage in this truck. Mine came with a flip-up cover that locks in four different positions, which helps a little.
Sucks that they put the hybrid battery under the back seat.

Where else would they put it? The bed?

The F-150 Lightning has its battery under the body. Why not mount it vertically behind the rear seats? Feels like they could’ve done better.
@Wesley
A full electric truck like the Lightning isn’t really comparable to a hybrid. Putting the battery behind the rear seats would mean redesigning the cab just for the hybrid model.

My F-150 PowerBoost hybrid has the battery between the frame, which gives me full under-seat storage. One of the reasons I went with it over the Tundra—plus, Ford built my factory order in under six months, while Toyota kept making me wait.

I get that, but the Tundra’s hybrid battery isn’t even close to the size of a full EV’s. A vertical setup behind the seat seems doable.
@Wesley
I see what you’re saying, but I doubt Toyota would go through the trouble of redesigning the cab just for the hybrid. Moving the rear seats forward would mess with legroom, seat mounts, door panels, airflow for the battery, and a bunch of other stuff.
@Neely
I’m not trying to argue, just saying they could’ve found a better place. I use that under-seat space all the time in my other trucks.

If they moved the seats up, people would just complain about legroom. It’s a trade-off no matter what.
@Neely
I still think there was enough room behind the seat. They could’ve figured something out.

Maybe, but then you’ve got extra costs, design changes, and more potential issues. Hybrid models would end up more expensive just because of that.
I don’t have a hybrid, so I still have under-seat storage. But I do have a tonneau cover and a BedRug, which makes a big difference. The cover comes off in a few minutes when I need to haul big stuff, and the BedRug keeps things from sliding around.
@Nevan
Same here! The BedRug is great—easy to clean, adds some padding, and still works for hauling mulch and gravel.
I use the Gator SRX roll-up tonneau, and I love it. Keeps my stuff dry, easy to use, and way cheaper than a hard top.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks! And the price is solid too.
@Tegan
No problem! If you have bed rails, they make a version that mounts flush. Mine stays dry even after multiple car washes.
I got a Bakflip cover and keep a storage bin in the bed for beach gear and straps. You could also check out molle panels since storage inside the hybrid is seriously lacking.
