Switched to 17-inch wheels on my 2025 Camry XSE, big improvement?

@Oren
Yeah, it makes no sense. Bigger wheels on hybrids lower MPG, slow acceleration, increase tire costs, make the ride worse, and they’re more likely to get stolen. Used to be that 18-19” wheels were for sports cars. Now they’re standard on daily drivers? I would’ve swapped mine out at the dealer if they let me.

@Kipp
That’s exactly why I swapped mine out. I love the XSE’s look, but I wanted more comfort and fewer downsides.

Which tire pressure site did you use? TireSize.com suggests lowering pressure from 35 to 33 psi when going from stock 19” to 18”, but your numbers seem different.

I used the same site, and it suggested 31 psi for my setup.

@Oren
I’d keep it at 33 psi and monitor edge wear. Lowering it too much increases rolling resistance, which hurts fuel economy.

I’m currently at 32 psi but will keep an eye on the tire wear.

Looks great. If my shop would buy my 19s, I’d make the switch too. Definitely considering it.

Did you have stock xse or wheel package? I’m curious if there was a difference from the wheel package ones

I think it looks way better this way.
