Telling which tpms sensor is dying?

i’ve already tried resetting it with the button and driving it per the procedure but that hasn’t made any difference so i know at least one of the sensors needs replaced, just need to know which one. thanks!

in older cars, I believe the only way would be with an advanced scanner. I have the same issue in my 2014 Tundra…one of the batteries must be getting low because the TPMS light will come on, then go off, etc…VERY annoying.

i service my car at Discount Tire. They have some TPMS tool that shows the battery level in each sensor. I remember one of the guys there showing me the screen and showing that one of my sensors was out.

when it acts up just check the psi manually so you’ll know which sensor is lagging.

autel ts201 will report tpms condition. sad part is, they don’t make that tool anymore. car part stores may check free if the have a handheld computer that does that.

oh cool, there’s a firestone not far from me. i’ll make some calls tomorrow. thanks for the idea!

when the light starts flashing on your dashboard showing the tpms light that’s a pretty good indication that the sensor’s battery has gone out.

firestone has them and will check for $29. big o checked mine with their bartec computer, for free.

awesome, thanks! there is a discount tire like right out my back door at work, like maybe 500 feet away.
