Yeah, looks like it cut into the area around the wheel arch line too. You’ll need some filler and reshaping. Not a ton, but still needs body work.
Nah, buffing won’t fix that. You could try a cheap touch-up, but it usually doesn’t look great. Getting it repainted is the best bet.
If it were mine, I’d use a paint pen and slowly build it up so it’s level with the rest of the paint. Unless someone’s looking closely, they probably won’t notice. I’d rather save the money for stuff that actually matters to the car’s upkeep. My old 07 XLE has 172K on it and still runs great. The paint’s not perfect, but I’m hoping to hit 300K.
I might try a bit of brake cleaner on a clean rag and see what that does first.
