Thinking about 2024 or 2025 Tundras… Any advice?

How are people liking their 2024-2025 Tundras? I’m deciding between an SR5 or Limited. Took a test drive the other day and they seem pretty nice. Are they worth the price?

Also, why are there used 2024 models on the market already? Should I be worried about buying such a new used truck? Could it be a lemon, or is there another reason people are letting them go so quickly?

The cost is about the same for similar trims across brands. As for used 2024s, there are all kinds of reasons. People might’ve had financial issues, didn’t like the fit, or had life changes like a growing family. Sometimes it’s as simple as someone passing away. Nothing that’s just about Toyota specifically.

I got a 2024 Limited a few weeks ago and love it. Traded in my Tesla Model Y—sounds weird, I know. But I needed a truck, and while the Tesla was so much fun, this truck just feels great to drive. I also looked at the Sierra, but it felt a bit too rugged for me. The Tundra feels refined without losing that truck vibe.

Mine’s a Limited with the Nightshade package, and it had 8,000 miles when I bought it. The original owner bought it in Nashville and traded it in Montana. No idea why, but it drives great, and luckily, it smells fine too (my main concern with used cars).

I just got an SR5 and love it! I’ve driven Ford, Nissan, and Ram before, but this is my favorite by far. That said, I’ve seen 2025 Rams on lots with ‘fixed’ issues, but they were still lemons. For the Tundra, I’ve heard engine issues aren’t common with the 2024s, but anything is possible.

I bought a 2024 Limited Hybrid with 3,000 miles about a month ago. Love it so far, especially the hybrid power and how the AC stays consistent even when the engine shuts off at lights. It’s loaded with better audio and a moonroof, and my whole family loves it. It also tows like a champ.

Got a 2024 SR5, and I’ve owned several older Tundras before. My only complaint is the lack of power seats and the small 22-gallon gas tank. If you can, go for the 32-gallon option—it makes a big difference.

@Harley
I picked the SR5 for customization. I’m planning to install an aftermarket 46-gallon tank. That’s the perfect size for me!

I have a 2025 CrewMax Limited. Early days, but I’m loving it so far. I’ve had Ford trucks before, and while they’re nice when new, the recalls and design flaws burned me. Toyota’s been way better about reliability and keeping customers informed about issues.

Got a 2024 SR5 TRD Sport. It’s okay. Big cabin, but it feels cheap—rattles a lot, and the AirPlay is unreliable. I came from a Tacoma, so it’s a bit of an adjustment.

I’ve got a 2024 SR5 TRD Off-Road and absolutely love it. Comfortable, drives great, and fits the family perfectly.

There was a recall about motors, and some people lost trust after a motor swap. That might explain some of the used models out there.

Third-gen Tundras don’t have the loyalty the second-gen did. People are realizing the newer ones feel lower in quality.

That’s nonsense. The 5.7 wasn’t even a great engine. Third-gen Tundras are outselling the second-gen monthly. People crying for the V8 probably couldn’t afford the new models and haven’t even driven one.

@Fielder
Agreed :100:.

You wrote an essay, dude. Clearly, I hit a nerve :face_with_hand_over_mouth:.
