Thinking about buying a 2026 should I wait for the release

I’m waiting to buy a 2026 Camry and wondering when I can start talking to dealers about it. When do they usually know what they’ll have? Do I have to wait for the official release on Toyota’s site?

You’ll probably have to wait. Has it even been announced? You could just get a 2025 since it’s still pretty new.

Two reasons for waiting. First, 2025 is the first year of this model and some say the second year is better. Not sure how true that is but I want to be safe. Second, I don’t need the car until October so I can wait a bit. I just want to reserve one as soon as dealers get them.

From what I know, dealers usually don’t reserve cars unless they’re already being shipped and you put down a deposit. Unless it’s a rare color or package, you should be fine just walking in. Camrys are popular so they don’t usually run out.

That makes sense. I’m hoping for the ocean gem color since I heard it’s harder to find, so I want to reserve early if I can.

I have ocean gem and love it. Don’t worry, you should be able to find one without much trouble.

I wouldn’t expect many changes for the 2026 model.

I’m waiting too. When the new one drops, dealers will want to clear out the 2025 models. The 2026 should be mostly the same except it’ll have nightshade and dark cosmos colors on higher trims. I might get the 2026 Corolla Cross too.

I’m curious about the dark cosmos. I’m planning for an ocean gem XLE but want to see if I like the cosmos more.

It looks like a darker celestite on the Corolla.

Maybe ask a Toyota dealer near you? If Google can’t help, the dealer should know.

I read they’ll probably start rolling them out in summer, but don’t take my word for it.
