Thinking about buying this truck… is it a good deal?

I found a truck at a dealership that seems like a great deal, but I’m wondering why it’s priced so low. The frame looks solid with only some minor rust under the tailgate, which I think is fixable. I live in a snowy area, so a little rust is expected. Should I go for it?

Check it out thoroughly. Why is it so cheap? If everything checks out, don’t wait too long!

Go for it! My ‘16 has 275k miles and still runs perfectly. Only had to replace the alternator at 230k, and everything else has just been regular maintenance.

Absolutely, go for it.

I’d say do it! My 2013 has over 240k miles and still drives like a dream. Just keep up with the basic maintenance, and it should serve you well.

I love the ‘15 Inferno Pro. Solid truck!

Make sure you check for rust underneath.

Exactly, take a look at that hitch too…

I checked. The frame looks good, no major rust, just some under the tailgate. Nothing that can’t be fixed.

I’ve seen similar ones selling for much higher, around $25k. This seems like a good deal, but I don’t think you’ll be able to negotiate much lower than this price.

At that price, I’d grab it as a backup vehicle!

Looks like a great deal to me.

Go for it! These trucks can easily hit 300k miles if you take care of them.

The hitch rust is pretty common. Clean it up and protect it with fluid film or paint. These trucks are built to last. If it’s a Pro, jump on it!

It’s priced well because the dealership buys from auctions. I just need to figure out why it’s so cheap.

@Ethan
Toyota just offered me more for my 2016 with fewer miles, so yeah, this seems like a deal.

I know this dealership. They sold my younger brother a truck with busted wheel bearings and called it “mint.” Be cautious and expect to do some maintenance soon.

Yes, absolutely get it. I have an ‘07 TRD Pro with 300k miles, and it’s still running strong. Just keep an eye on oil leaks, which are common for these engines.

The suspension might need work, so maybe look into upgrading it with Kings.

I’m also from a snowy area. First thing I did with my truck was get the underside coated to protect against rust.
