I’m thinking about buying an 07 Prius with 180,000 miles. Would be using it mainly for DoorDash. I’m hoping it can last at least two years. I’m planning to talk the price down and keep some money aside for any fixes. Thoughts?
I got one recently with 188k miles. The previous owner kept up with the service and even replaced the battery. It’s been running great so far. I paid $3,200.

Sounds like you got a good deal.
@Monty
Yeah, I bought it from an older guy in Florida who only used it during winter. He was the first owner too. Appreciate the support.
$6,000 is way too high. I wouldn’t go over $4,000 for one with that mileage.
I’d only pay that if the hybrid battery was replaced recently.

The person who posted this said the battery was replaced.
If it’s an original Toyota battery, then yes. If it’s a rebuilt one from a third party, then I’d pass.
Even with how things are now, that price is high. Try offering $3,200 and maybe meet around $4,000 or $4,500.
Nope.
I don’t know how to update my original post but like I said, I want to use it for DoorDash and get at least 2 years out of it. Thinking of offering less and saving the rest for any repairs later on.

Offer $4,000 and see what they say.
So I offered $4,000 but she said no and stopped replying. Looks like I’ll have to keep looking. Thanks to everyone who helped me out.

Hah, classic ‘make me an offer’ and then disappears when you do.

Don’t worry about it. Happened to me too while I was searching.
@Whit
I ended up with an 07 for $4,500. The guy first asked for $6,000 but dropped after some back and forth. Mine had only 120k miles though.

That car might be worth around $2,500 if it’s running well with no current problems. But once things start failing, it’ll cost quite a bit to fix. With that age and mileage, I’d try to pay much less.

You mean like a water pump that’s about $80? The battery’s already been swapped as mentioned in the post.
Wouldn’t pay more than $4,000.
