so, i finally did it. got my hands on a 2025 subaru forester sport. weirdly enough, it’s my first subie even though i basically fit the profile—grew up in the PNW, love hiking, road trips, and my two spoiled dogs. felt like i was breaking some unwritten rule by not owning one till now lol. anyway, this yearlong review should be interesting… so far, i like the new design, but the power? kinda meh. anyone else feel the same?
forester’s never been about speed tbh. but the fuel economy and range make up for it. 465 miles per tank ain’t bad.

epa says 25 city / 32 highway / 28 combined. not groundbreaking, but decent for road trips.

yup, got the pet ramp, seat cover, kennel, sunshades… basically everything subaru sells for dogs 
i test drove one last week… felt nice but kinda underpowered. how’s it handling for you?

handles fine, but yeah, the 2.5L engine isn’t exactly thrilling. takes some adjusting, esp for quick turns onto busy roads.

mostly low-end power. gotta time turns right bc it’s not super quick off the line.

yeah, the boxier stance looks way better imo. feels more solid too.

yep, went with the sport. got the crystal white pearl w/ bronze wheels. the 11.6-inch screen is a nice bonus too.
I own a 2015 Forester XT. It’s my favorite vehicle that I’ve ever owned. Never bought a newer one because i didn’t want to be disappointed in the lack of power. Bring back the Forester XT, or put the wrx engine in the Wilderness.
