i’m about to buy my first car and i’m really leaning toward a corolla. thinking something from around 2009 to 2013. anyone here own one from those years? how reliable has it been? would you still recommend it now?
got an '09 corolla with almost 200k miles and it still runs great. just basic stuff like oil changes and tires. nothing major yet.

200k is wild mine’s at 140k and still smooth. good to know it can go even further.
@Verne
yeah these cars are built to last. as long as you don’t skip maintenance, they’ll keep going.
had a 2010 corolla back in college. reliable as hell and super cheap to keep running. not the flashiest, but solid.

flashy isn’t really what i’m going for lol. just want something that won’t break down every month.
you can’t go wrong with a corolla from those years. easy to fix, parts are cheap, and mechanics know them well.

yup, parts are everywhere. got my brakes replaced and it was super cheap.
i’ve got a 2012 and i love it. just regular stuff like oil, tires, and brakes. haven’t had a single big issue.

sounds exactly like what i need. thanks for sharing that.
some people say they’re boring, but boring is good when it comes to cars that won’t give you trouble. perfect first car imo.

facts lol. i’d rather have boring than constantly fixing stuff.
