I have a 2024 TRD Pro with 3,200 miles… how worried should I be?

So how’s Toyota going to handle this?

So how’s Toyota going to handle this?
They’ll fix it like they always do…

That’s one of the good things about Toyota. They care about their reputation and will handle fixes themselves. Unlike Audi, which just buries issues with lawyers. My other car is a 2014 Prius, and my girlfriend has a 2020 Camry. Sticking with Toyota for life now.

Same here. I’d love an Audi RS3, but Toyota and Lexus have the reliability I trust. Next car is definitely a Lexus.

That’s why you lease German cars and ditch them when the warranty’s up.

They do drag their feet on recalls though. I work at a dealership and the Tundra engine issues are rough. No recall yet, so we have to take the engines apart instead of replacing them. Toyota doesn’t pay much for the work, and it’s a big hit on our warranty metrics.

Yeah, that sounds tough. At least Toyota’s more proactive than others, but I get that it’s frustrating for dealers.

Exactly. They do better than most, but it’s still hard when customers are mad about delays, and it hits our numbers too.

Toyota’s not perfect. They have ignored some issues like the ABS failure on older Priuses unless you’re under 150k miles. But they’re still better than most brands.

That’s fair. I’ve been lucky with my 2014 Prius at 230k miles. Compared to Audi, Toyota’s still a lot better at addressing issues.

Toyota does handle fixes, but parts are often on backorder. Imagine paying $60k for a truck and having to wait months for a repair.

Right now, it’s just a TSB, so if your powertrain warranty runs out, you’re on your own. This affects the whole chain—from customers to dealers—and could hurt future sales.

Looks like they’ll have to replace the transmissions. I hope this isn’t a bad sign for the new Land Cruiser since they share the same setup.

Same goes for the 4Runner. Not great news for those of us with the 2025 6th Gen on order.

They might not have the exact same transmission, so fingers crossed.

People need to know this is a TSB, not a recall. Without an extended warranty, owners are left hanging.

Thanks Toyota for making expensive stuff that doesn’t work.
