Toyota recall... anyone affected?

Just saw that Toyota is recalling certain 2023 models, including Corolla, Highlander, Tacoma, and some Lexus models. It’s something about the steering column and airbag connection. If it’s not fixed, the airbag might not go off in a crash. They’re saying dealers will inspect it and replace parts if needed at no cost. Anyone here get a recall notice yet?

Yeah, I got a letter about it last week. They said I need to bring my Tacoma in for an inspection. Haven’t scheduled it yet tho.

Same here. I have a 2023 Corolla Cross. The airbag warning light hasn’t come on, but I’ll probably get it checked just in case.

I wouldn’t wait too long… if the airbag doesn’t deploy, that’s a big risk.

How do I check if my car is affected? I have a 2023 RX 350.

You can check on Toyota’s website or Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSA. Just enter your VIN or license plate info.

Man, Toyota has been recalling a lot of stuff lately. Feels like every few months there’s another one.

Yeah, but at least they’re fixing it for free. Some other brands take forever to issue recalls.

If your airbag light is already on, does that mean your car has this issue?

Not necessarily, but it could be related. Best to get it checked ASAP.

Might also be a sensor issue. Either way, the dealership should be able to tell you.
