Their EVs aren’t that great, so this is a smart decision. It’s better to use the production capacity for drivetrains in PHEVs like the RAV4 Prime and Prius Prime. These vehicles are ideal for the transitional phase we’re currently in.
Camry Prime pls Toyota
As a new RAV4 Prime owner, I completely agree. I’ve driven 900 miles and used just over a quarter tank of gas. Most of my driving (about 90%) is local, but it’s great to have a traditional gas option for longer trips.
I went from a 15 mpg Explorer to a car that gets over 99+ mpg, and I’m loving it.
That said, we’re definitely considering a full EV to replace my wife’s car when it eventually dies, since all of her driving is local.
In Canada, you basically need to put down a deposit now if you want your toddler to have a Toyota when they’re old enough to drive…
A friend of mine has been waiting for a RAV4 Prime for 3 years.
And there are no EVs here, at least not in Nova Scotia.
So I really don’t know what they’re referring to.
Trust Toyota. They’ve always been ahead of the market. They had a successful hybrid long before anyone else. Now they’re shelving their (admittedly subpar) EV. Don’t follow the crowd blindly, my guess is that hybrids are here to stay.
What EVs? They only have one and it’s by far the worse EV in the market today.
Not surprised. They never really wanted to make EVs in the first place, and the one they did produce isn’t great, lol.
Yep,Toyota believes in hydrogen.
A lot of the industry feels the same way, they are just quieter about it. Hydrogen is the future, EVs work well in cities, but hydrogen is the real solution.
