I have a regular, non-power tailgate. When I use my key fob to unlock the car, I still need to unlock the driver’s door and manually unlock all the doors before the tailgate will open.
I have been told this is normal and that I can’t use the key fob to unlock just the tailgate. Is this really the only way to unlock the tailgate? Thanks!
Unfortunately, if it’s not a power tailgate, it’s likely that you have to manually unlock all the doors before the tailgate will open. It’s a bit of a hassle, but that’s how it works for many cars.
Take the key from your fob and attempt to open it.
If it doesn’t work, wiggle the tailgate wildly in all directions while keeping the handle open. When my 21 gets stubborn, it takes well to being told to get out of the hole.
