So, I’ve got a 2009 Toyota Tundra 5.7, and the traction control light is on, plus the VSC light is blinking. If I reset it, it stays off for a bit, but as soon as the lights come back on, I lose all power. Anyone else dealt with this? I’ve run the computer, but no codes show up. Any ideas?
Hey Farin, sounds like the traction control system has detected an issue. When you ran the computer, did it show any codes at all? Sometimes, a scan tool might miss something.

Nope, no codes at all. I also checked the ABS system and it shows no faults either.
@Raenys
That’s strange. Is the scan tool a good one? If there’s no ABS fault, it could be something with the ABS module. Maybe it’s failing but not throwing any codes.

I’ve used two different computers, both showed the same thing. I can reset the ABS system, and the lights go off for a while, but they always come back on.
I had something similar happen on my car. It turned out the ABS module was the issue. You might need to replace it if resetting doesn’t help. Have you tried using a different scan tool?

Yeah, I’ve tried a couple of different ones. No luck so far. Just wondering if there’s any way to test the ABS module before replacing it.
@Raenys
You can test it with your VIN number. I can help you look up the specs for testing, but it’s best to get it checked by a shop if you’re not sure.
Have you checked the wiring around the ABS module? Sometimes, a loose connection can cause issues without triggering codes. Just a thought.

Not yet, but that’s a good point. I’ll take a look at the wiring and see if anything’s loose.
If resetting doesn’t work and no codes show up, I’d lean toward a failing ABS module too. Just had to replace mine a couple months ago for similar reasons.

Thanks, Luc! I’ll keep that in mind if I can’t figure it out with the wiring. Looks like replacing the module might be the next step.
No worries, just keep me posted. You can send the VIN later and I’ll help you look into more options. Good luck!
