Ever since I got my car, I’ve noticed that water keeps dripping out of the doors for way too long—sometimes a whole day after washing it or after it rains. It’s left these streaks at the bottom corners that never seem to go away. I’ve tried leaving the doors open after washing, even taking it for a drive to shake the water out, but nothing helps.
A few weeks ago, when it was really cold, the doors felt heavier, and I could actually hear ice moving around inside them when I opened them.
Anyone else dealing with this? The drain holes aren’t clogged, but I think they might just be too small to let water out fast enough. I’m worried this could lead to rust inside the doors. I’m planning to bring it up at my 15k oil change.
I also think the constant dripping has worn off my ceramic coating in those spots. It rained right after I got the coating, and ever since then, there’s just always water there.
Glad I’m not the only one! I’ve noticed that even on dry days, my doors still have water rolling out in the morning. I thought maybe the drain holes were clogged or that the dealer forgot to remove some covers or something.
Exactly! It’s frustrating because the rest of the car looks great, but those water streaks under the doors stand out. My car is black, too, so it makes it even more obvious.
Yeah, it’s super annoying. I tried pulling back the weather stripping at the bottom of the doors, but even days later, my windows still get wet when I roll them down.
I have the same issue with my 2025 XLE. The water trails under the doors and the condensation on my mirrors last for days after washing or rain.
At first, I thought my drain holes were blocked because my car sat under a pine tree at the dealership before I bought it. I asked them to check when I went in for an accessory install, but they said everything looked fine. I’m going to bring it up again at my 5k service, especially since it rains a lot where I live.
