What do you guys think about this deal?

I came across this listing and wanted to see what everyone thinks. It’s a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro with 101k miles priced at $38k. Is this reasonable, or should I stay away? Here’s the picture

$38k for a truck with 101k miles sounds way too high to me.

You’re right, it’s expensive, but trucks like these are selling because people hold onto them. It’s like paying extra for limited supply and popularity, kind of like rare sneakers.

For a 2021 TRD Pro, that’s not unusual. I’ve seen similar models priced between $45k and $50k depending on the mileage.

@GuyBolding
I saw a post yesterday about one selling for the same price it cost brand new.

Honestly, that doesn’t seem too bad. Have you looked at truck prices lately?

You probably won’t find a better price on a Pro at a dealership. The 100k miles might mostly be highway miles. If you’re interested, ask them to lift it so you can check for damage, especially to the skid plate or any signs of rough off-roading.

Truck prices are ridiculous, but don’t encourage dealerships to keep gouging people by paying those prices.

100k miles on a truck like this is nothing. That’s maybe 25-30% of its lifespan.

My buddy has a 2021 Platinum and loves it. I’ve got a 2017 Platinum with 138k miles and no major problems so far. Only thing I don’t love is the black leather in the summer heat.

For a 2021 TRD Pro, that price isn’t too far off. I have a 2021 Limited with 30k miles, and the dealer offered me $43k. Just make sure you check the service history and inspect it closely. It could’ve been used hard.

The V8 Tundras hold their value like crazy. But for that price, I might look at a 2023 F-150 instead. That’s the year Ford finally fixed their transmission issues.

I checked the dealer’s website, and they intentionally left out pictures of the driver’s seat. It might have the common Tundra seat wear problem. If they’re hiding that, who knows what else they’re not showing.

@Leighton
What’s the Tundra seat problem?

After 100k miles, the driver’s seat often gets really worn from sliding in and out unless the owner is careful. I’d ask for a photo of the seat condition.

Honestly, I think it’s a good deal for what it is.

101k miles in just three years? That’s way too much for me to consider.
